The community is invited to attend and participate in the Ebenezer A.M.E. Church Poetry Ministry 2018 Juneteenth Celebration. Join the Anointed P.E.N.S. and The Psalmists of Solomon of The Ebenezer A.M.E. Church Poetry Ministry as they present this year's Juneteenth Celebration, Friday, June 15 at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church. This free event includes an Open Mic and is open to all ages. The Open Mic sign-up closes at 8pm.
Featured Speaker will be noted historian and lecturer, C.R. Gibbs, P.O.S. Psalmist, Christine Jenkins, Liturgical Dancers, Jean Law and Esther Garrett, with African Drumming and Dancing by The Malcolm X Drummers & Dancers. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served and a free will offering will be accepted.

June 3 - Featured readers: Rosemary Winslow, and *the 3 winners of the 2018 Jacklyn Potter Young Poets competition. The reading will also include a reading of "Columbus" by Miles David More.
Sistah Joy and Venus Thrash will co-host this kick-off the 42nd Annual Joaquin Miller Poetry Series.

This teen poetry camp sponsored by M-NCPPC in partnership with MSAC will take place at the Patuxent River 4-H Center in Upper Marlboro, MD. The camp is free to Prince George's County teens between 13-18 years old. Contact Stewart Seal at Stewart.email@example.com for application information.
July 14 (3-5pm) - 2018 Hip Hop Poetry Choir
This culminating finale, a performance by teens who participate in the 2018 Expressions camp takes place at the Bowie Performing Arts Center (BPAC) at 15200 Annapolis Rd., Bowie, MD 20715. This event is free and open to the public.
The members of Collective Voices, Sistah Joy, Ladi Di and Brenardo, will present their original poetry at "Voice As A Bridge - 2" at 6:30pm, Tuesday, June 5, at The Arts Club of Washington, DC, 2017 I Street, NW., Washington, DC.
The group is honored to receive this return engagement, having participated in the inaugural "Voice As A Bridge" reading at The Italian Embassy in 2017. Although seating is limited, the event is open to the public. Guests are encouraged to arrive early.
